Hiways are committed to protecting the environment and are aware of the impact construction and roading activities can have in environmentally sensitive areas.
The company is thoroughly conversant with the Resource Management Act: 1991. Special consideration is given to sections 15 and 17 of the Act regarding contaminants from roading activities.
Hiways has developed a comprehensive Environmental Management Manual following consultation with the Auckland Regional Council. This manual covers environmental policy, legislation, responsibilities, incident procedures and operating procedures and will ensure that every effort will be undertaken to protect the environment during all works.
In the pursuit of best engineering practice, Hiway's are currently undertaking a Carbon auditing process to ensure our processes are at the most efficient and the highest from an environmental sustainability perspective.
