Quality Assurance
Hiways are ISO 9001:2008 accredited and are regularly audited to ensure compliance with our adopted quality management systems.
All staff are fully trained in all aspects of QA throughout all systems and processes employed by the company.
The company's Compliance Manager continually monitors, updates and improves the company's quality, recording and reporting systems to ensure the highest level of quality management is achieved throughout.
Hiways also hold NZTA's 'Prequalification for Physical Works' Certification under the following headings;
- Routine Works 1A
- Construction 4A
- Minor Works 5A
Foam Bitumen Recycling (FBR) Testing and Quality Assurance
A Quality Assurance Plan is prepared in advance of all of Hiways FBR projects. The QA Plan encompasses testing of materials that are to be used on site in order to ensure that the strength of the pavement will meet the design criteria.
The QA Plan explicitly states what type of testing will be conducted after construction, and the target strength values that are to be achieved. Once the testing has been completed by an independent certified laboratory, the results are thoroughly analysed in a QA Completion Report.
FBR is a relatively new process for pavement recycling in New Zealand and therefore we are committed to ensure that all new pavements constructed, or old pavements recycled, with FBR undergo a rigorous QA regime. To this extent, Hiways Technical Personnel spend significant periods of time on site at all FBR projects.
